If you were required to file taxes for 2018 – 2019 but didn’t you’ll need to file taxes for 2019 before you can claim your stimulus check.
Eligible U.S. citizens or permanent residents who didn’t have to file taxes due or were otherwise not required to file taxes still qualify for the $1,200 stimulus check.
The CARE Act provides an increase of $600 per week above unemployment amounts offered under state law until July 31, 2020. This applies even if you already have unemployment.
The Stimulus check does not count as taxable income and therefore will not be counted toward assistance levels or impact tax brackets.
